Zion and Bryce

We’re driving through the desert when all of a sudden it looks like we’re on Mars. This part of Utah really has to be seen to be believed. In fact, an artist came here in the late 1800s and painted some of the scenery and everyone thought he made it up. The Indian name for Zion is Mukuntuweap, which means “straight up land”, and that’s a pretty good description. Bryce canyon, Zion and the Grand Canyon are all part of the same geologic formation called “The Grand Staircase”. Mormons have weird laws regarding alcohol, but were all very nice.
