Maine."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I like Maine.  Portland was the first place I had ever been in Maine.  Several people I had spoken to would say stuff like &#8220;Portland is okay, it&#8217;s just so touristy and crowded&#8221; and yeah, it definitely had that tourist thing going (tourist towns will have without fail: souvenir shops, a gourmet kitchen\/weird cooking oil shop, old timey toy store, bulk candy store, and a soap store), but if Portland is too touristy and crowded for you, then make sure you never go to any other popular city in the world.  Like all coastal towns in Maine, it&#8217;s a commercial fishing town, and that might be my favorite kind of town.  I love getting a drink and sitting near the marina, just watching the ships come and go.
