Gunnison, CO and Salt Lake City, UT

Stopped in Gunnison for a couple of days because I THOUGHT it was on the way. Not a whole lot to do there, but it was very pretty and there were bodies of water for me to jump in. University of Western Colorado is there, so it’s kind of a neat little college town, but very small. I knew that 50 was closed right by the RV park, but I thought there was a detour that would only add 1.5 hours. Unfortunately, that detour was under construction and closed to any vehicle over 50′ (I’m 57.5′), so I had to turn around and basically go all the way to Denver. If 50 had been open it would have been a 3.5 hour travel day. If the detour had been open it would have been a 5 hour travel day. Instead it was an 11 hour travel day, the longest I’ve ever done by a lot. I was dead tired when we finally pulled in to Moab. Next we stopped in SLC for a couple of days. I took a lot of pics of the mountains around SLC, but none of them really came out all that great, so enjoy some Mormon temple stuff.
