I wanted to check out Yakima for the hop season but I was a week early. I still tried many local beers though. Mt. Rainier is beautiful and I wish we could have spent some more time there. Remember to click on pics to see the whole thing.

F•N•S – Mt. Rainier National Park, Wa.
CCH member Brian Smith, his wife, and dog in their continuing travels about the country, arrived at this magnificent National Park. The marvelous views available made it tough to select one RV site over the several available.
They chose a site that was isolated and bereft of other campers. Once the RV was set up, they drove to a local brewpub several miles away. They had a nice meal and sampled a number of the craft beers available. Brian purchased several bomber bottles of a particularly good Russian Imperial Stout before they returned to the campsite.
Each site is equipped with a burn pit and fortunately, burn restrictions are not presently in effect. They waited until dark before lighting theirs. All was going well as Brian and Sara relaxed, enjoyed some stout, and reflected upon the events of the day under a beautiful canopy of stars.
Suddenly, his dog yipped a few times at the darkness surrounding the campsite before calming down and sitting at Brian’s feet. Brian and Sara were stunned to see a large figure emerge from the darkness. A Sasquatch walked into the campsite and sat down with them at the picnic table. The three of them eyed each other for a few minutes before Brian popped the cap from another bottle of stout. He handed it to the Sasquatch who promptly reached out to grab the bottle. He took a big swig and grunted a few times in succession.
Brian and his wife were a bit hesitant to move so they just sat there in bewilderment. The Big Foot finished the beer, grinned, made a few “wookie” sounds, and casually strolled back into the darkness as quietly and swiftly as he had appeared.
“What just happened?” asked Sara. “I’m not sure,” said Brian, “but I’m glad he didn’t bring his friends with him; we’re almost out of beer.”
