Even though I enjoyed (most of) it, I was ready to get out of Washington. Seaside is less than 30 minutes south of Washington, but culturally feels completely different. I’m staying in Seaside and using it as a base camp to hang out in Astoria and Cannon Beach as well. Seaside is kind of like a touristy beach town stuck in the 50s, Cannon Beach is an upscale touristy beach town, and Astoria is an industrial harbor town. A lot of The Goonies was filmed in Cannon Beach and Astoria, so I had to check all that stuff out. I had some technical difficulties with the site and got a week behind, so this is actually 2 posts in one.
