When looking at our options to see the total solar eclipse, the two places that jumped out at me were Big Bend and Hot Springs. Since we were just in Big Bend, I decided to check out Hot Springs. Good choice! The actual national park is nice, the water is good and free, and you can drive 30 minutes and find some nice hikes. Also found A LOT of quartz.
